Chocolate: Food for the Gods

alt   February 4th - 1:00 PM - Join us for a fascinating lecture and chocolate tasting! Over the years, chocolate has been used in cultural ceremonies, and as a medicine and stimulent. Americans today consume 12 pounds of chocolate per person per year. Dr. Lauren Fins, forestry professor at the University of Idaho, will present a program exploring the natural and cultural history of chocolate, including social and environmental costs of this "food of the gods." This program was made possible by funding from the Idaho Humanities Council, the state affiliate of the National Endowment of the Humanities. No registration required.
