Home: Strategic Plan Eagle Public Library's Strategic Plan The Eagle Public Library is working on its first strategic plan since the opening of its new building in February, 1999. This community-based effort started with a workshop conducted by the Idaho State Library in December, 2003, and will result in a five-year development plan by mid-2005. A nine-member planning committee appointed by the Library's Board of Trustees is researching development trends in Eagle and surveying households and groups to determine the public's service and collection needs. A survey was recently distributed to half of Eagle's 8,600 households through Eagle Sewer District billing. Plans call for door-to-door distribution of surveys this fall to the rest of the homes in the City. To become effective, the Library's new strategic plan must be approved by the Library Board and adopted by the City Council. It would then become a blueprint for library funding beginning in fiscal year 2005/2006. The goal is to have a well-stocked, full-service library for a city of about 25,000 by the year 2010. For more information on this planning process, contact Library Director Ron Baker at 939-6814 ext. 2. -September 2004 |
