Donor Information

The Eagle Public Library welcomes donations of hardback and paperback books, magazines, and audiovisual items such as videos and DVDs, musical CDs, and audio books. However, the Library prefers not to get large donations of National Geographic magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books, or old, outdated textbooks and computer manuals.

Donors with a large number of items should drive to the garage door at the north end of the library building and ring the buzzer on the intercom. Staff will assist you with getting donations into the building, counting them, and filling out a donor receipt. Donations are tax deductible with this receipt. Smaller numbers of donations may simply be handed in at the Circulation Desk.

Donated items are first reviewed by staff and some 4,500 are added directly to the Eagle Public Library collections annually. The remaining items are given to the Friends of the Library to be sold in their daily or special book sales. All funds raised by the Friends go back to the Library as grants to purchase new books and AV items, equipment and furniture, or supplies for children’s programs.

The Library also gladly accepts tax deductible monetary gifts. Such gifts may be designated or undesignated. Memorial gifts can also be arranged. Any designations attached to monetary gifts must be compatible with established library policies.
